and Green streets. Western Exhibitions shares the 845
W Washington
building with Document, Volume Gallery and the Tony Wight Gallery and
next door to Kavi Gupta Gallery and Andrew Rafacz Gallery.
Public transit:
CTA GREEN LINE TRAIN (TO HARLEM) depart at the MORGAN stop and walk
south to Washington, then go east to 845 W Washington or take the CTA
BLUE LINE TRAIN to UIC/HALSTED and walk north on Peoria to Washington.
Gallery
Background:
Western Exhibitions is a Chicago-based commercial gallery showing and
representing emerging and established artists who work in contemporary
idioms. The gallery focuses on working with a varied roster of intelligent
artists, helping them to achieve their artistic and professional goals.
Western Exhibitions shows work in all media and maintains a specific
inventory of artist books and multiples, gathered together on our sister
entity's website, WesternXeditions
Begun
in 2002 as a nomadic space, director (and ex-artist) Scott Speh first
opened a bricks-and-mortar space in 2004 on Chicago's west side and
moved to Chicago's main contemporary gallery district, the West Loop
in 2008. Western Exhibitions has participated in several international
art fairs including Nada Miami Beach, The Armory Show, The VOLTA Show
in Basel, Milwaukee International Art Fair. Gallery shows have been
reviewed in Artforum, Art in America, Art Papers,
Art Ltd., and in several Chicago-based publications.

While we are not actively looking to add to our roster, we might take
a look at what you are doing. We invite you to email us with your website
address (URL). Please do not email jpegs (emails with an attachment
of any kind will be deleted without opening) or mail a package. If you
don't have a website, get one! Also, please don't expect an immediate
response or a critique -- there's only so many hours in the day.....
